• I live in Carrickfergus while working in Belfast. This gives me the best of both town and country life but is expensive for taxis home.
  • I’m currently working with asp.net, Meridio and K2 workflow and prefer working with C# and the Microsoft stack to Java.
  • I like getting involved in the developer community in Belfast so you can normally find me at NIMTUG
  • I’m one of the 20% of female developers out there and love being a geek.
  • My geek credentials include a love of sci-fi and fantasy books and films and yes I like Star Trek as well as Star Wars
  • I volunteer at a youth club for children with learning disabilities called Carrickfergus Junior Gateway. I started there in 1997 when I was 15 and became Leader in Charge in 2007.
  • In 2006 I joined Kainos Software Ltd as a graduate Software Engineer
  • In 2008 I joined the management committee of Carrickfergus Citizen’s Advice Bureau. It’s a great way of giving back to an organisation that has helped my family so much.
  • 2011 was a busy year for me:
  • In April I was prompted to Senior Software Engineer.
  • In May I became Chairperson of Carrickfergus Mencap
  • In October I ran DeveloperDeveloperDeveloper Belfast- a free conference for .net developers
  • In December I was invited to join the Northern Ireland Mencap Committee, a post that I was honoured to accept.
  • In January 2012 I joined Women in IT and Science (WITS) Northern Ireland.

Everything on this blog is of my own opinion, not that of my work or any of the various organisations I volunteer with.
